Naperville Salute seeking musical acts with veteran, military ties

Organizers of Naperville's new Fourth of July weekend celebration are conducting a talent search for bands and musical acts with ties to veterans or active military personnel.

The Naperville Salute is planned for July 2-3 at Rotary Hill in the city's downtown and will conclude with a fireworks show July 4 at Frontier Park on the south end of town.

The performers selected to participate would be added to the entertainment schedule for the event's first two days, according to a news release. Eligible bands or acts must have at least one veteran or active member of the military. Those interested can email info@napervillesalute.com.

The festival aims to honor hometown heroes, first responders, active military and veterans, with proceeds benefiting the Naperville Responds for Veterans nonprofit, organizers said.
