Man dies nearly four years after Round Lake-area shooting

A 21-year-old man who was shot nearly four years ago in the Round Lake area died Thursday morning in Northbrook, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Lake County sheriff's Sgt. Christopher Covelli said Eduardo Llanos, of Round Lake Heights, had been shot on Aug. 23, 2017, at Norelius Avenue and North Thompson Street. At the time, Llanos, then 17, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Covelli said the case remains an open investigation and no arrests have been made.
