Naperville police investigate downtown stabbing

A boy was stabbed Friday evening during a fight in downtown Naperville and taken to a hospital, police said.

Naperville police said the victim is being treated for injuries that are not life-threatening, while the offender is still at large. Police did not provide the victim's name, age or hometown.

Police said the fight occurred shortly before 9 p.m. in the alley behind the Water Street parking garage. Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress, and one officer found the victim in a parking lot in the 400 block of South Main Street.

Police said the assault is under investigation and that there's no threat to the public.
