Aurora reopens grant program for events

Aurora has reopened an annual grant program for local events in light of progress with COVID-19 guidelines laid out by the CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health.

Community groups planning a public event between June to December may apply for a Neighborhood Festival Funding Grant. Funds can also be used for events that require a special event permit.

Grants of up to $1,500 are available to assist groups hosting public events designed to educate, benefit, organize or connect Aurora residents. Events must comply with COVID-19 protocols in place at the time.

Funds are limited, but previous events that received funding in the past include the LaSalle Street Car Show, Roots Aurora, Juneteenth and Dia de los Muertos.

To request an application, call the Community Services Department at (630) 256-3400 or email hakalad@aurora.il.us.
