Barrington hydrant flushing set for May 3-19

Barrington will conduct its annual hydrant flushing from May 3 to May 19 to eliminate as much mineral content as possible from the water supply.

Flushing will occur in the village, Paganica of Barrington Hills, Braymore, Weatherstone, Glencrest, and Sanctuary of Inverness between from May 3-14, and in Abbey Woods and Estates of Inverness Ridge from May 17-19.

During flushing operations, residents may experience discoloration, low water pressure and rusty water. This may occur during the entire flushing period, even when flushing may not be in your immediate area.

Although water may be discolored, it is safe to drink. However, until the water runs clear, residents should avoid washing clothes, especially whites.
