Environmental resource fair in Hanover Park April 27

On Tuesday, April 27, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) Commissioner Eira Corral Sepúlveda will co-host "Growing a Greener Future: Family Environmental Resource Fair" in Hanover Park.

The event will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Liberty Park, at the corner of Irving Park Road and Longmeadow Lane in Hanover Park.

Commissioner Corral Sepúlveda will help distribute MWRD resources (including free bags of compost and milkweed seeds) to promote sustainable gardening practices that mitigate flooding and protect pollinator populations.

She also will help residents order MWRD rain barrels and provide an on-site activity for families to begin germinating zinnia seeds to plant this spring.
