Fremont library board has an opening. Here's how to apply

Fremont Public Library District officials are seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Mundelein-based board.

No one ran for an open seat with a two-year term in the April 6 election, so it falls to the board to appoint a new trustee.

The deadline to apply for the seat is April 30, and interviews will start May 6. The new trustee's term will expire in spring 2023.

The vacancy arose after Trustee Lauren Jackson resigned in October. Laurie MacKay was appointed to fill the seat until the election, at which time MacKay won a full 4-year term.

If you're interested in the volunteer post, send a letter and a resume to library Director Scott Davis at: Fremont Public Library District, 1170 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, IL, 60060.

Candidates must be at least 18, registered voters and residents of the library district. The district includes parts of nine villages in Fremont and Libertyville townships.
