A 23-year-old man who authorities say used his cellphone to capture women "in various states of undress" in the restroom of a Rolling Meadows restaurant where he worked was ordered held on $10,000 bail.

Juan Sixtega, of Arlington Heights, is charged with unauthorized video recording and live transmission, a felony punishable by up to three years in prison. Probation is also an option.

According to prosecutors, a woman noticed a cellphone with black tape affixed to it propped up on a utility cart when she went to use the restroom at Sushi Station. The woman couldn't tell if the phone was recording, said Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Ruben Herrera.

The woman told her friend, who went to the restroom, took the phone -- which authorities say had black tape over the camera's flash -- and turned it over to the Rolling Meadows police, Herrera said.

Police obtained from the phone 20 videos of women, Herrera said.

The time-stamped videos were recorded between late March and April 9, Herrera said.

Cook County Judge Ellen Mandeltort Tuesday ordered Sixtega have no contact with his accusers or with the restaurant.

Released after posting 10% of his bond, Sixtega will next appear in court April 30.

Restaurant owners fully cooperated with the investigation and played a vital role in identifying victims, police said in a prepared statement.

The investigation is ongoing. Rolling Meadows police urged any potential victim to call them at (847) 255-2416.
