Carpentersville man pleads guilty, gets 6 years for weapons charge
A 33-year-old Carpentersville man pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of being an armed habitual criminal after police found him in possession of a stolen gun in November 2018.
James M. Glover was arrested Nov. 2, 2018, after police searched Lamelle T. Johnson's Carpentersville apartment and found between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine, 25 hydrocodone pills, a stolen Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun and ammunition.
Glover, who was on parole from a 2011 felony case and was also at the residence, was in possession of stolen Glock 17 handgun.
Glover was sentenced to six years in prison, of which he must serve 85%. He received credit for the 880 days he has been in jail.
In October 2019, Johnson, 53, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine that he planned to deliver and was sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment.
