St. Charles Twp. man gets probation for sending customer's nude photos to himself

A St. Charles Township man has been sentenced to 18 months of probation for sending himself nude photographs he found on a customer's cellphone while he was working at a store in Huntley in 2018.

Kane County Judge David Kliment also sentenced Justin D. Devine to 180 days in jail but stayed the sentence. That means Devine won't have to go to jail if he completes probation successfully.

Devine was convicted in January of nonconsensual dissemination of a sexual image. He could have received up to three years in prison.

In 2018, Devine was working at a store in Huntley when a woman came in to have her cellphone carrier changed. Devine requested her phone to perform the task.

When she took the phone back, she noticed a text with five photos of herself had been sent to an unknown number.

That evening, she researched the phone number online and discovered it belonged to Devine.

She told police she had taken the photographs two nights before.

Devine told police that sending a message to another number was part of the procedure for porting numbers. He said the pictures inexplicably ended up in the message and he tried to stop the text.
