Glen Ellyn Food Pantry meets goal to raise $900,0000 for new home

The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry has reached its $900,000 fundraising goal for a capital campaign to turn a former church parsonage into its new headquarters.

A $50,000 matching grant provided by the JCS Arts, Health and Education Fund of the DuPage Foundation pushed the pantry's capital campaign over its goal.

The funds will allow the pantry to renovate and relocate to the old parsonage next to Faith Lutheran Church on Park Boulevard. The new location will give the pantry its own dedicated building after more than 40 years of sharing space inside Grace Lutheran Church.

Construction will begin in late spring. Pantry leaders expect staff and services to make the move at the end of the year.
