Q. Why are you running for this office, whether for reelection or election the first time? Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?

A. It is my belief that people should be engaged within their communities to make them the best place they can be. I have been a community representative for the park district for 8 years now and thought it is time to give a little more ...

Q. Did your park district continue to adequately serve its constituents during the disruptions caused by the pandemic? If so, please cite an example of how it successfully adjusted to continue providing services. If not, please cite a specific example of what could have been done better.

A. Yes, they were constantly pivoting to the current mandates by our Governor. Innovating and exploring new ways to serve our community's needs.

Q. In light of our experiences with COVID-19, what safeguards/guidelines should you put in place to address any future public health crises?

A. We are continually monitoring the environment to use best practices for the health and safety of our community members.

Q. How has the pandemic affected the park district's offerings and use of facilities. Are there other ways the park board can fulfill the mission of a park district during these times?

A. Yes, unfortunately the facilities and services during the past year weren't utilized as they have been in years past ... but safety was of our utmost concern. As a board we have to think proactively to remain useful and be relevant to our community in fitting their needs.

Q. How has the pandemic affected the park district's revenue? How has that been addressed on the expense side?

A. We are fortunate to have a very good handle on our finances using the utmost in fiscal responsibility to our residents. This year as a park district, we did NOT increase or change any way our tax levy to the community - showing our support during difficult times.
