District 64 inks new contract with superintendent
Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 Superintendent Eric Olson is sticking around for at least two more years.
The District 64 board has approved a new contract with Olson that keeps him aboard through June 2023.
Olson has served as superintendent since July 2019. He received a three-year contract at that time, and it had been set to expire in June 2022.
"There is no other place I'd rather be than District 64, and I'd like to be here for a very, very long time," Olson said through a district spokesman.
Olson is being paid $220,985 for his work this school year. His annual pay will increase to $230,000 on July 1, and he'll be eligible for pay increases of up to 3% in the years that follow, according to district documents.
The school board approved the deal last week, the district spokesman said.
Olson came to District 64 from Arlington Heights Elementary District 25, where he served as assistant superintendent for student learning.
District 64 board members are very pleased with the work Olson has done so far, President Rick Biagi said through the spokesman, "especially in handling the difficulties of educating students during a pandemic."
