COD offers limited in-person classes for summer session

College of DuPage is planning for students to return to some face-to-face classes at its Glen Ellyn campus this summer.

The state's largest community college will offer roughly 1,800 courses, including 191 hybrid sections with a combination of in-person and online instruction. Summer session classes begin June 1.

For the first time in more than a year, 57 sections will have full, in-person instruction, the college announced Monday.

Remaining sections will be offered in an online format or as virtual class meetings. COD also is waiving an online course internet fee of $57.50 for all students.

Priority registration for students with 30 or more completed credits begins March 23. Registration for all others, including new students, starts March 31.

"College leaders currently are finalizing health and safety procedures as we prepare to offer these limited number of face-to-face courses," COD President Brian Caputo said in a statement. "In the meantime, we continue to consult local and state health departments and follow the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."
