The sweet science of maple syrup

The Lake County Forest Preserve District is holding a live virtual program, "Maple Tree Tapping," 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28. Participants can join Environmental Educator Jen Berlinghof on Zoom as she taps a sugar maple tree at Ryerson Woods Forest Preserve in Riverwoods. She will talk about how trees work and the sweet science behind making real maple syrup. Tickets are required. The cost is $3. A Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants no later than one hour before the start of the program. The program cannot be registered using a mobile devise.
