Watch the candidates for Lake Villa village president take part in a joint interview with a representative of the Daily Herald Editorial Board.
The 36-minute exchange between incumbent Village President James McDonald and challenger Allison "AJ" Johnson was recorded Feb. 22 on Zoom. The candidates discussed issues ranging from the village's response to the COVID-19 pandemic to road improvements to downtown development.
The election takes place on April 6. Mail-in and early in-person voting begins in Lake County on March 12.
