Schaumburg library making laptops available for checkout

The Schaumburg Township District Library is now offering laptop kits for checkout.

The library has 19 kits available - 15 are 13-inch MacBook Pros and four are Lenovo T400 ThinkPads. Each kit includes a computer bag, Wi-Fi hot spot and a mouse.

Kits are available to adult and teen cardholders only. The checkout period is two weeks, but the checkout can be renewed as long as there are no other holds.

Each laptop is equipped with the Microsoft Office 2016 suite of programs, Zoom and Photoshop Elements.

Data will be wiped automatically after each login, so patrons should be sure to save to the cloud or on a flash drive to avoid losing any documents.

A hold for a kit can be placed online, and pick up is available at all three library locations: the Central Library in Schaumburg and branches in Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates.
