Rolling Meadows man dies of head injuries from bar fight, authorities say
A Rolling Meadows man died of head injuries suffered in a bar fight last week in Des Plaines, authorities revealed Tuesday.
Thomas B. Adamowski, 34, died Jan. 26, two days after the fight at Rand Road House, 864 Rand Road, a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
Adamowski suffered blunt head trauma due to an assault, an autopsy performed Saturday revealed. He died at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he'd been in the intensive care unit, the spokeswoman said. His death is considered a homicide, she said.
The fight occurred in the early morning hours at the bar. The only detail police would disclose about the fight is that no weapons were involved.
Police said they know the identities of the people involved in the altercation but wouldn't release them, citing the ongoing investigation. Police didn't say how many people were involved or if anyone else was hurt.
No one is in police custody, a city spokeswoman said. She declined to answer any other questions.
Police are working with the medical examiner's office and the Cook County state's attorney's office to investigate the matter.
