Food distribution events in North Chicago

Prepackaged boxes of food will be distributed from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Midwest Veterans Closet, 2323 Green Bay Road, North Chicago. The distribution is first come, first served while supplies last. Distributions also are planned for the same time and location, just north of the James A. Lovell Federal Healthcare Center, Feb. 15, March 5 and March 29. The events are made possible by a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation to Illinois Joining Forces to combat food insecurity for Lake County area veterans, their families and active-duty service members, Midwest Veterans Closet offers clothing, household items, small kitchen appliances, furniture, employment and housing leads, and food at no cost.
