Adopt a highway applications available in Lake County

Applications are being accepted through Jan. 31 for the Lake County Adopt A Highway program, in which volunteers commit to clean a section of the roadside twice a year.

Volunteers are provided with high-visibility safety vests, trash bags and safety information. To acknowledge the effort, an Adopt A Highway sign with the group's name will be installed at the clean up area.

Cleanups provide a public service, promote civic responsibility and teamwork and help the environment. Group participation is limited to 10 or less, and spring cleanups should proceed with social distancing.
