Barrington to work on comprehensive plan update

The village of Barrington will be working this month on its 2020 comprehensive plan, a task done every 10 years, after getting 1,100 survey responses and 340 participants in community meetings.

The plan sets goals and objectives, and provides the framework for maintaining and enhancing the village's character with land use planning and development.

The village board and plan commission will review the draft update at workshop sessions throughout January. The final draft will be reviewed by both bodies in February, followed by a public hearing before the plan commission in March. The village board will consider the adoption of the plan in April.

All the sessions are open to the public. Visit barrington-il.gov/compplan for meeting dates.
