Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 returns to hybrid learning

All schools in Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 will return to a hybrid learning model Thursday.

District officials are urging participation in voluntary COVID-19 saliva screenings. The district has seen a student participation rate of more than 60% in previous screenings last month.

"Our goal is 90% participation to make the best evidence-based decisions," Superintendent Melissa Kaczkowski said in a letter to families Wednesday.

The district is preparing a summary of the latest screening data that will be reported on a COVID-19 dashboard online.

If a saliva sample indicates a "probable positive," students are asked to contact their health care provider for further instructions, to obtain a diagnostic COVID-19 RT-PCR test from a certified lab and to notify their school nurse of the result.
