Libraries host Feb. 24 Q&A on 'The Long Shadow'

"The Long Shadow," a documentary, will be the subject of an online conversation and Q&A with Emmy-Award winning director Frances Causey from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, on Zoom.

This Schaumburg Township District Library program is free, but requires registration to get the Zoom link. Register at SchaumburgLibrary.org.

The library encourages participants to view the documentary prior to the discussion. It is available to stream from Friday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 26, at thelongshadowfilm.com/libraries. Schaumburg Library cardholders can also check out the DVD or view it on Kanopy, available on the library's website.

In "The Long Shadow," Causey traces her family's legacy of white privilege, placing it in the context of the history of anti-Black racism in the United States that began with slavery and continues to impact society today.

This event is co-sponsored by multiple Illinois libraries.
