Elgin police say no lingering danger from Tuesday shooting

An Elgin police official said Wednesday they are no longer looking for any suspects related to Tuesday's shooting of a woman on the 0-100 block of Clifford Court.

However, the investigation remains active.

The shooting occurred at 2:41 p.m. The woman was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover, according to a statement released by the police department.

Police said in the statement the shooter left the scene on foot. Public Information Officer Kristie Hilton said there "is no danger to the public," but she did not respond to questions about whether a suspect has been identified, located or arrested.

Anyone with information can contact the police at (847) 289-2600 or send an anonymous tip by texting it to 847411 and including "ElginPD" at the beginning of the message.
