Montini Catholic High School releases virtual Christmas album

Montini Catholic High School in Lombard has recorded a Christmas album and released it online.

“Virtually In Sync” was the brainchild of Montini music director Donnie Glowinski. The album features the Montini band, chamber choir and concert choir performing holiday favorites.

“My main mantra this year has been — even though we are not together — we can still make music,” Glowinski said in a statement. “I wanted the students to have a product to show for their hard work this semester, and our concerts usually fill that void. An album seemed like the best way to embrace the current climate.”

Montini operated on a system of hybrid learning, with a reduced number of the students attending school one day and another group on the next day. For the album, students recorded their individual parts at school, in bedrooms, closets, cars and anywhere they could find a quiet space.
