Des Plaines man charged with exposing self to Fremd student

A 33-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested by Palatine police Tuesday after being identified as the suspect in an indecent exposure case at Fremd High School earlier in the year.

Police said Martin F. Wieczorek is charged with felony indecent exposure stemming from the Feb. 28 incident in the high school's parking lot.

According to police, a girl was sitting in her car at the end of the school day when another vehicle pulled up next to her and she saw the man inside had exposed himself and was "committing a lewd act."

On Sept. 8, Fremd's school resource officer was notified of similar incident in another jurisdiction and was given a picture of the vehicle's owner in that case, police said. The Fremd student last week identified Wieczorek as the suspect.

Charges against Wieczorek were approved Monday, and his bail was set Tuesday at $20,000, authorities said. He's scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.
