DuPage forest preserve permits go on sale

Annual permits for use of the DuPage Forest Preserve District's off-leash dog areas, private watercraft, stand-up paddleboarding, model crafts and the archery range will go on sale Tuesday, Dec. 1, at dupageforest.org.

Customers are encouraged to buy their permits remotely at dupageforest.org, by phone, via fax or U.S. mail due to the pandemic. To give current permit holders more time to renew, the forest preserve district is extending the expiration date for 2020 permits to Jan. 31, 2021.

Nonmotorized private watercraft no longer need water usage stamps, but all watercraft (except stand-up paddleboards) need hull identification numbers.

Senior citizens 65 and older and military veterans who have qualified for a free annual permit in the past will automatically receive credit for their 2021 annual permit upon completion of their online transaction.
