The armed robbery Thursday was the second reported in Libertyville in three weeks.
In the late morning on Friday, Oct. 30, a man robbed the Rolland's Jewelers store at 500 N. Milwaukee of an estimated $150,000 in merchandise.
In that case, a man described as white or Hispanic, looked at merchandise for about a half-hour before handing an employee a note implying he had a gun. The man took the items and fled in a black 4-door vehicle.
Libertyville police Lt. Matt Goze said there was nothing new to report in that case and there isn't any sign the two robberies were connected.
