Fulfill your dream to earn a degree

This fall, many students have learned what thousands of community college alumni have known for years; community college is an excellent choice! Whether your dream is a certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree or beyond, you can get there from here.

Seventy-two percent of Waubonsee's students are enrolled in a "transfer program" or a course of study that transfers to a four-year college or university. And, whether on-campus or online, students have access to our Counseling, Advising and Transfer Center experts who can guide students to their desired four-year institution. With partnerships and guaranteed transfer agreements with many colleges that streamline the entire transfer process, our transfer pathways and guides give students the information they need to confidently move forward.

The stories of our alumni tell that story the best. Over the years, Waubonsee has recognized many of our alumni who began their higher education journey at Waubonsee such as now Deputy Chief Keith Cross of the Aurora Police Department; 2014 Illinois Teacher of the Year, Pam Reilly; now retired Glenbard East basketball coach, Scott Miller; and Maria Lozano, Director of English Language Learners for West Aurora School District 129.

In addition, we have featured many successful Waubonsee alumni as our commencement speakers including James Pilmer, Executive Director of the Fox Valley Park District; Dr. Jorge Partida, Chief of Psychology, Los Angeles County Health Department; The Honorable Gail Johnson, former Village of Oswego President; The Honorable Jeffery Schielke, Mayor of the City of Batavia; and Kristen Ziman, City of Aurora Chief of Police. Their stories speak to the diversity of pathways to success found at community colleges and at Waubonsee Community College.

I often talk about the power of education to change lives. That may be more true - and more important - than ever now. Waubonsee Community College is more than college. Waubonsee is community college and we take pride in the word community.

For 54 years our community has relied on Waubonsee Community College. Nearly 320,000 individuals have attended Waubonsee since we opened in 1966. And, our new MyChoice initiative makes attending Waubonsee an even easier choice with five ways to take classes.
