Five seats open on Palatine library board in April

There will be five open seats on the seven-member board of the Palatine Public Library District in the April 6 election.

The open seats currently are held by Andrea Vanderhoek, board president, and trustees Bruce Jefferson, Debby Brauer, Preet Singh and Jeffrey Westhoff. Four seats have four-year terms and one has a two-year term.

Nominating petitions for the open seats will be accepted 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 14 through Dec. 21, in the library's administrative offices on the second floor of the main library, 700 N. North Court in Palatine. No late submissions will be accepted.

Candidates must reside in the library district's service area and fulfill all other applicable requirements.

For more information, candidates can visit the Cook County Clerk's website at cookcountyclerk.com and the Illinois State Board of Elections website at elections.il.gov. Information also is available for photocopying in the administrative office of the library.
