Democrat Mussman wins sixth term representing Illinois House District 56

Democrat Michelle Mussman handily defeated Republican challenger Scott Kegarise to win a sixth term representing Illinois House District 56.

Mussman secured 20,298 votes while Kegarise collected 17,435 votes, unofficial totals showed Wednesday.

Mussman, of Schaumburg, has been in the Illinois General Assembly for 10 years. Kegarise, Schaumburg Township highway commissioner, has headed up the Schaumburg Athletic Assocation and the Schaumburg Jaycees.

District 56 includes all or parts of Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Palatine, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, and Schaumburg.
