No injuries reported in Carpentersville fire

Carpentersville Fire Department officials said no one was injured in a house fire late Wednesday night.

Firefighters were dispatched to the house on the 6100 block of Providence Drive at 9:51 p.m.

Firefighters reported seeing smoke from an upstairs window upon arrival.

The fire was located in an upstairs bedroom of the two-story, wood-framed house, fire officials said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

It took about 10 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

There is no word on the amount of damage to the home, but it was deemed uninhabitable for the time being, fire officials reported.
