A Kane County jury has convicted an Aurora man of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, authorities announced Monday.

Jammal J. Drane, 34, of the 800 block of North Lake Street, was convicted Sept. 29. Prosecutors presented evidence that Drane sexually assaulted the victim, whom he knew, between January and October 2017. The child was under the age of 13.

Drane can be sentenced to six to 60 years in prison. His next court date is Jan. 8.

He has to register for life as a sex offender.

Drane remains in the Kane County jail, where he has been held since his arrest in May 2018.
