Watch House District 70 candidates talk about the issues.

Editors representing Shaw Media and the Daily Herald editorial boards interviewed candidates for Illinois House District 70 on Monday, Sept. 14.

Candidates include incumbent Republican Jeff Keicher of Sycamore and Democratic challenger Paul Stoddard of DeKalb.

This is the second time the pair has competed for this seat.

In 2018, Keicher beat Stoddard with 51.7% of the vote.

Stoddard is a 12-year member of the DeKalb County Board.

Keicher, an insurance agent, was appointed to the seat in the summer of 2018 after Bob Pritchard resigned the seat.
