In place of Last Fling, Naperville Jaycees to host virtual fundraisers

After canceling the annual Last Fling event due to the coronavirus, the Naperville Jaycees organization is hosting two virtual fundraiser performances to raise money for the community.

Presented by 95.9 FM The River, the free events will stream live on the Naperville Last Fling Facebook page. The first performance, featuring Dave Mikulskis of Hi Infidelity, takes place at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The second will feature Pino Farina at 7 p.m. Sept. 23.

Typically held over Labor Day weekend, the Last Fling is the Naperville Jaycees' largest fundraiser to benefit local nonprofits. When the COVID-19 crisis forced the event's cancellation, organizers offered a creative approach to raise "critical funds for our community," officials said in a news release.

The performances will allow families to enjoy a fun activity from their homes, Last Fling Entertainment Chairwoman Danielle Tufano said. Musicians interested in pitching in are asked to email entertainment@lastfling.org.

Donations can be made through a link available during the livestream or by mailing a check payable to "NCCOI" to P.O. Box 22, Naperville, IL 60566-0022.
