Video: Lake County state's attorney candidates Nerheim and Rinehart meet with the Daily Herald editorial board
Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim and his Democratic challenger Eric Rinehart joined representatives of the Daily Herald editorial board on Tuesday in a video recorded candidate forum.
The candidates responded to questions about issues such as violent crime, gangs, drugs and wrongful convictions among other topics.
Nerheim was first elected to the office in 2012, as part of a career as a prosecutor and defense lawyer. Rinehart has practiced in law for 18 years, including in the Lake County public defender's office and as a defense lawyer.
