Police seek Aurora woman accused of identity theft from customers at a Walmart store.

Authorities are looking for an Aurora woman who they say stole identifies from customers at a business inside an Aurora Walmart store.

Kane County State's Attorney Joe McMahon has charged Aida B. Gonzalez, 31, of the 400 block of Palace Street, with one count of identity theft ($10,000 to $100,000), one count of theft ($10,000 to $100,000), one count of theft by deception ($10,000 to $100,000) and 10 counts of identity theft ($300 to $2,000).

According to a news release from McMahon's office, prosecutors say that between December 2019 and January 2020, Gonzalez used the personal identifying information of 10 victims to fraudulently establish lines of credit and cellphone accounts and to purchase cellphones for unauthorized individuals. The total amount taken was $10,715, the release said.

Gonzalez worked at a kiosk inside the Walmart at 2900 Kirk Road, the release said.

Bail has been set at $15,000.

Gonzalez is not is custody. Anyone with information about her is asked to call Aurora police at (630) 256-5536.
