Laesch to announce his run for Aurora mayor

Former East Aurora school board member and community activist John Laesch will announce his run for mayor of Aurora at 10 a.m. Sept. 12 at Aurora City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place.

Laesch, a climate activist, wants to transform Aurora into an energy efficient city, with a long-term goal of 100% renewable power.

"There is an enormous economic opportunity for Aurora to lead in creating good paying jobs in a growing green economy," he said.

Laesch said he is not taking campaign contributions from people who do business with the city of Aurora or those seeking city contracts.

Face masks and social distancing will be required of attendees on Sept. 12; or watch it live at www.facebook.com/johnforaurora.
