Naperville's Lantern tavern temporarily closed due to COVID-19

The Lantern Tavern and Grill in downtown Naperville has shut down temporarily due to a confirmed case of the coronavirus in the building.

The popular neighborhood establishment at 8 W. Chicago Ave. announced the closure in a Facebook post Tuesday, saying necessary precautions are being taken to "ensure the health and safety of employees and customers." A professional cleaning and sanitation service has been hired to disinfect the building, and the business is following all guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The tavern expects to resume operations as soon as possible, the post says. Updates can be found on social media, the Lantern's website or on the mobile app.

"We apologize for any inconvenience and hope everyone stays safe and healthy," it says.
