Bartlett police cite Elgin driver in crash that hurts motorcyclist

An Elgin man has been issued a traffic citation for making an illegal U-turn just before a Monday crash in Bartlett that injured a motorcyclist, Bartlett police said Friday in a news release.

Police said that about 6:40 a.m. Monday, a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south on Munger Road when it struck the driver's side of a 2002 Toyota Tundra that apparently failed to yield to traffic while making a U-turn at the intersection of Brewster Creek Boulevard.

The 29-year-old motorcyclist was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Gonel J. Lopez-Bahena, 19, of Elgin will be assigned a date in DuPage County court.
