Buffalo Grove village hall reopens to the public after cleaning

Buffalo Grove village hall, closed to the public late last week because of a possible COVID-19 exposure, reopened Monday.

Village Manager Dane Bragg said officials learned late Thursday that a person with the virus had prolonged contact with village employees in village hall. The village closed the building to the public Friday. All exposed employees were offered COVID-19 tests, and the affected areas of the facility were commercially disinfected.

"Since that time all affected employees received negative COVID-19 test results," Bragg said.

"I want to assure the public and our employees that we have taken all possible measures to provide for the highest level of risk mitigation based on this exposure," he added. "We do not have any reason to believe any member of the public or any elected official was exposed. We will continue to monitor all possible risks of COVID-19 exposure and respond as warranted."
