Truck catches fire on Elgin-O'Hare

A Ford Super Duty truck caught fire Friday morning on the Elgin-O'Hare tollway, but Roselle firefighters had the blaze under control within 10 minutes.

The Roselle Fire Protection District said it responded about 9 a.m. to the eastbound lanes near mile marker 8.

Firefighters said the fire appears to have started in the engine compartment, but very little of the vehicle was left to investigate.

The driver was unhurt. He told firefighters he pulled over when the truck started smoking.
