Two Village Links, Reserve 22 employees recovered from COVID-19

At least two Glen Ellyn employees at a village-owned golf course and restaurant recently tested positive for COVID-19 and have since recovered, officials confirmed Tuesday.

Reserve 22, the restaurant at the Village Links of Glen Ellyn golf course, temporarily closed so the village could bring in an outside cleaning company after an employee contracted the virus a few weeks ago, Village Manager Mark Franz said. More recently, a Village Links staff member on the golf side developed COVID-19, Franz said.

There was "limited exposure" associated with the cases, said Franz, who declined to give exact dates on when the employees tested positive, citing privacy concerns.

A "very limited number" of co-workers came into contact with them and were sent to get tested, Franz said.

"We've reached out to all of them and taken the necessary precautions," Franz said.

Village Links operates 18-hole and 9-hole courses on the village's southern end at 485 Winchell Way.

The village did not announce the cases on social media or other official channels of communication.

Villagewide, the DuPage County Health Department has recorded 195 confirmed cases among Glen Ellyn residents.
