Roselle village hall to reopen July 6

Roselle village hall will reopen to the public July 6, with some restrictions.

People will be able to enter village hall for normal services. However, water and sewer bill payments and vehicle sticker purchases can still be submitted via mail drop box or handled by phone at (630) 980-2000 or online at www.roselle.il.us/328/Online-Payments.

Face masks will be required for anyone entering the building and will be provided if needed, as will hand sanitizer. Partitions and floor markings have been put in the lobby to keep people from close contact.

The first hour of each day, from 9 to 10 a.m., will be reserved for residents who are at higher risk for COVID-19 because of age or illness.

Village hall will be open until 1 p.m. Wednesdays and 4 p.m. other weekdays.

"We plan on doing things for the residents that will be as safe for them as possible," Mayor Andy Maglio said. "That's our biggest priority above anything."

Services will be by appointment for police, fire and public works administration. Call (630) 980-2020 to contact public works, (630) 980-2043 for the fire department and (630) 980-2025 for the police station. Call 911 for police and fire emergencies.

The second floor of village hall, where the mayor and other village officials work, will still be closed to the general public.

Village hall has been closed since March 16, with many staff members working remotely. Some will continue to do so, officials said.

Restrictions across the state will loosen Friday as Illinois moves to Phase 4 of Gov. J.B. Pritzker's reopening plan.

Indoor restaurant dining, movie theaters, gyms, museums, zoos and day camps will be allowed to resume operations in limited capacities and with restrictions. According to the DuPage County Health Department, DuPage County has reported 8,742 total cases with 451 deaths, as of Tuesday. Roselle has seen 210 confirmed cases thus far.
