New Windsor school principal in Arlington Heights

Lindsay Anastacio has been promoted to principal at Windsor Elementary School in Arlington Heights Elementary District 25.

The school's assistant principal since 2016, Anastacio is entering her 16th year in the education field. She began her career as a middle school special education teacher in Glenview Elementary District 34, then was an intermediate special education teacher for nine years in Barrington Area Unit District 220. She came to District 25 in 2015, when she was hired as a student services coordinator.

"Windsor is such an inclusive school," Anastacio said in a statement. "Our special education programs and English learner programs are ingrained in the culture of our school and all students benefit. I'm so excited to be principal and continue my impact on the equity of all students."

Anastacio replaces Piper Boston, who spent a year at the helm at Windsor after her previous principalship at South Middle School. Boston and Superintendent Lori Bein agreed Boston will serve a different role in District 25 next school year, district officials said.
