DuPage providing curbside Narcan

The DuPage Narcan Program has adjusted its services due to the COVID-19 pandemic to provide curbside pickup of the opioid overdose antidote Narcan and phone or virtual training on how to use it.

DuPage County residents can obtain Narcan by visiting www.hopedupage.org or emailing DNP@dupagehealth.org. Any Illinois resident can access addiction-related resources by calling a free helpline available 24/7 at (833) 2FINDHELP (2-3463-4357) or by visiting https://helplineil.org/.

The DuPage Narcan Program in April gave out 437 doses of Narcan to first responders, treatment providers and community residents as part of the county's efforts to decrease opioid overdose deaths.

The county has seen 20 overdose deaths, many of them from opioids, during a three-week period during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now officials are working to stop the trend from continuing.
