'A' for Elmhurst Hospital safety

Elmhurst Hospital has held onto its status as one of only 32 hospitals in the U.S. and five in Illinois to achieve an 'A' grade every time the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades have been released since 2012.

Elmhurst Hospital and Edward Hospital in Naperville both received A grades in the Leapfrog Group's Spring 2020 Hospital Safety Grades, which use 28 measures of publicly available data to grade 2,600 acute-care hospitals across the country every six months.

Data points measure hospitals' work to prevent medical errors, infections and other forms of harm from afflicting patients in their care.

Elmhurst and Edward hospitals also each received five stars in the 2020 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings.
