Sex offender registration modified to address safety concerns

Round Lake Park police have implemented a modified sex offender online registration system to insure the safety of officers without compromising public safety.

OffenderWatch Express Check-In cuts processing time of re-registration and address updates considerably by allowing offenders to pre-enter certain data before appearing in front of an officer. It also reduces in-person contact by having registrants update information online ahead of the in-person interview.

Officers receive messages when a registrant has submitted updates for his/her file and can view the pending list of submitted registration updates. After it is reviewed and accepted, the update is applied to the record in registry database.
