Naperville Rotary donates to community pantry

The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise is pledging $2,000 to West Suburban Community Pantry during the COVID-19 pandemic. The club set a goal for the drive to exceed $5,000 in total donations, which translates to more than 10,000 meals for roughly 1,800 individuals.

Over the past few weeks, the pantry has seen a 50% increase in the need for food. Normally serving 300 to 350 families a week, it now is on track to provide groceries to 500 or more families weekly.

The pantry serves families and seniors in Naperville, Lisle, Woodridge, Bolingbrook, Willowbrook, Westmont and Romeoville. It also provides snack and lunch support to a number of schools when they are in session and recently opened its first in-school pantry.
