Easter fire damages Bartlett home; no injuries reported

Bartlett firefighters safely extinguished a house fire on the 400 block of Topaz Lane in the village late Sunday afternoon.

The Bartlett Fire Protection District received the call at 5:28 p.m., and the first crews arrived at 5:31 p.m. to find the side of the house on fire, officials said. The fire was declared under control at 5:49 p.m.

No civilians or firefighters were injured in the fire, and the home remained habitable. Damage estimates were not available Monday as the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

It was the second house fire in Bartlett within 24 hours. The first was at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday, on the 900 block of Chippendale Drive. That fire started in the garage of a home and was safely contained before it entered the living space.
